About CalcuLane

Free calculators that give you a straight answer and explain what it means.

Why this site exists

Most calculator sites give you a number and nothing else. You get a monthly payment with no sense of what it costs you overall, or a health figure with no idea what it's based on. Then you close the tab none the wiser.

CalcuLane is built the other way round. Every calculator gives you the number you came for, the numbers behind it, and a plain-English explanation of what it actually means for you. No sign-up, no email wall, no app to install.

How the calculators are built

  • Standard formulas, stated openly. Every calculator page shows the formula it uses and works through an example, so you can check the result yourself.
  • Tested against known values. Each calculator is checked against published reference figures before it goes live, and re-checked whenever it changes.
  • Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server. Close the tab and it's gone.
  • Built to work anywhere. Multiple currencies and units, on any phone or computer, on a slow connection.

What this site is not

CalcuLane gives general information, not professional advice. The calculators can't see your full situation — your lender's fees, your local tax rules, your medical history. Use the results to understand your options and to ask better questions, then confirm anything important with a qualified professional. There's more detail on our disclaimer page.

How the site is paid for

CalcuLane is free and intends to stay free. Running costs are covered by advertising shown alongside the calculators. Ads never change a result, and no calculator is ranked, weighted or written to favour an advertiser.

Who runs it

CalcuLane is operated by CalcuLane, a company registered in Estonia. Found a mistake, or want a calculator that isn't here yet? Tell us at hello@calculane.com — corrections get fixed quickly.
